As processor clock rates continue to increase and put pressure on processor bus architectures, scaling is addressed by implementing multiple processor buses. This can result in an architecture consisting of processors and memory arranged in smaller subsystems called nodes. Processor access time to memory in other nodes is longer than access time to memory in the same node. This results in Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) across the system. The longer access times to other nodes can degrade software performance. The operating system attempts to limit degradation by scheduling threads from the same process on processors that are in the same node, and allocating all memory requests within the same node as the processor making the request. In addition, an API is included to make NUMA architecture information available to application software. These features ensure that memory accesses are local to a node wherever possible, and limit software degradation caused by the NUMA architecture. |

However, Windows Server 2003, Web Edition, can accept only one VPN connection at a time. Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, can accept up to 1,000 concurrent VPN connections via the ports. If 1,000 VPN clients are connected, further connection attempts are denied until the number of connections falls below 1,000. We come through a lot of problems in installing our own Operating Systems in our laptops, like “Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer”, etc. Here I have given a solution that will definitely solve these problems. Here we create our own Windows installation CD/DVD which will include all the drivers, etc. we want like the SATA driver. We have already seen one solution to this problem which uses the BIOS facility to activate the installation. The solution was a simple one but it is not ideal for some laptops.
We have to use software known as nLite to perform the driver integration operation. To download the software click here. For Downloading Intel SATA AHCI Drivers for Windows XP Click here. After successfully installing the software(nLite) follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Copy your Windows installation disc into some folder in your hard drive. Here I named my folder as WINXP.
Step 2: Open nLite. Click Next.
Step 3: Now Click Browse. Select the folder where you have copied your Windows installation Disc. Click OK.
Step 4: It will show the details of your installation. Click Next.
Step 5: As we don’t have any Presets click next.
Step 6: Here it will show the activities you want to perform. Select Drivers in Integrate section and Bootable ISO in Create section. Click Next.
Step 7: Now click insert and select multiple driver option.
Step 8: You can browse and select the driver folder you want to integrate. Select All and OK.
Step 9: It will show you the details of the driver. Select All and Click Ok. After that cllick next. It will ask for confirmation. Click Yes.
Step 10: After it completes the integration process click next.
Step 11: Now you can burn your disc. Select direct burn.
Step 12: Click Burn. Confirm Yes.
tep 13: Wait until it finishes. Click Finish.
Now you have successfully completed integrating the driver. You can use this CD for installation in any laptop where the SATA native is not supported.
You can use nLite for any purpose like integrating components, etc.

Didnt Find HDD while installing Win XP

Step 1: Reboot your computer. While startup, before the Operating system starts, press the F10 key continuously until it shows the BIOS menu as shown below. If you have any start up password or administrator password then enter it. In the BIOS menu select the System Configuration tab.
Step 2: Now you can see the SATA Native Support option. It will be in the Enable Mode as default.
Step 3: Select the SATA Native Support option and press enter. You will see the enable or disable option.
Step 4: Now you select the disable option.
Step 5: After completing the entire task given above press F10. It will show a quit menu. Select yes and it will automatically reboot the system.
Now your computer is ready for the setup. Now you put your Windows CD/DVD in the Disk drive. it is important that you enable the Boot from ROM option and it is first in the boot order.
NB: This technique may work for other brands than HP also if the BIOS support the disable SATA native support option. This technique will not only allow you to install XP but also any other operating system of your need in any HP laptop.

Como Instalar Windows desde una USB

tutorial acerca de cómo instalar Windows desde una unidad USB, ya sea que instales Windows XP, Windows Vista o las RC de Windows 7.Ya sea porque no tengan CD’s o DVD’s para quemar su iso a un disco, o no quieren usar mucho su CD/DVD porque ya esta un poco rayado, o por instalar Windows en una de las nuevas “netbook”, ya que estos aparatos no tienen unidad de DVD, pero bueno… aquí les va mi tutorial, espero dejarlo bien explicado ñ_ñ.
Primero, antes que nada, dos puntos importantes a saber antes de empezar:
I.- Es necesario una memoria usb que no tengan ningún archivo importante, ya que se formateará y no quedara rastro de nada. No se preocupen, si queda espacio en su USB, no se preocupen, pueden usarla aun como tal si quieren seguir teniendo su Windows instalable desde USB, mientras no borren ningún archivo copiado en la usb por este procedimiento.
II.- El tamaño de la usb requerido varía dependiendo del Windows a instalar. Un Windows XP SP3 original sin modificar, cabe perfectamente en una usb de 1 giga, mientras que Vista/7 necesitan mínimo una de 4 gigas.
III.- Para que el booteo por USB sea posible, asegúrate que la placa acepta ese tipo de inicio. Por lo general, las placas recientes no tienen ningún inconveniente en hacerlo ñ_ñ.
IV.- Puedes instalar con este método Windows XP/Vista/7, PERO solo puedes preparar la USB desde Windows Vista/7.
Pues bien, teniendo en cuenta estos 4 puntos, comencemos con el tutorial.
1.- Asegúrate de que tu memoria esté conectada a tu computador, y que no haya otra más (esto para evitar errores desagradables).
2.- Abrir el símbolo del sistema, este se encuentra en Todos los programas > Accesorios > Símbolo del sistema.
* Si usas Windows Vista o Windows 7, favor de darle click derecho > ejecutar como administrador

3.-Ya en el símbolo del sistema, escribir:
diskpart
y presionar Enter.


4.- Una vez cargado el programa, que tarda unos cuantos segundos en cargar, escribir
list disk
y lo mismo, presionar Enter; este comando lista los discos disponibles en el sistema, de la misma, ver cual es el número correspondiente para la unidad USB.

5.- Ahora te aparece en pantalla una lista de los discos que tienes conectados a tu computador, tanto discos duros como memorias usb’s. Identifica que número de disco es tu memoria (básate con el tamaño de la memoria), y ahora ejecuta
select disk X
donde X es el número de disco de la unidad USB.

6.-Ahora, Ejecutar en el siguiente orden, los siguiente comandos(esperar entre cada uno el mensaje de confirmación de que la operación se realizó correctamente):
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
exit

7.- Bien, hasta este punto tenemos ya lista la usb para pasarle los archivos a nuestra usb. Ahora, necesitamos los archivos a copiar. Tenemos dos opciones: insertar el disco de la instalacion de windows en nuestra unidad lectora, o bien montar la imagen iso en una unidad virtual, con programas tales como daemon tools, clone drive o similares.
Ya una vez insertado o emulado el disco, identifica la letra de unidad que ocupan tanto tu memoria USB, como tu disco.

Nuevamente, desde el símbolo del sistema, ejecutar:
xcopy U:\*.* /s/e/f/h Z:\
Tomen en cuenta que hay espacios en los siguientes lugares:
xcopy <espacio> U:\*.* <espacio> /s/e/f/h <espacio> Z:\
donde U es el nombre de la unidad de CD (o DVD), ya sea virtual o emulada, y Z la letra de la usb. Asegúrate de escribirlo tal y como está.

Ahora aparecerá en pantalla una lista de los archivos conforme se van copiando a la usb; este proceso puede tardar varios minutos o llegar incluso a una hora, todo depende de la velocidad de escritura de tu usb.

8.-Una vez que te dejen de salir directorios, te escriba el número de archivos copiados y vuelva a aparecerte el cursor parpadeante listo para recibir un comando, ejecutar, ya para salir del simbolo del sistema:
exit

9.- Finalmente, ya tienes tu usb lista para instalar. Conecta tu memoria a la pc donde se instalará windows, configura la BIOS para que puedas arrancar desde USB key, o USB Hard Disk, y listo, todo lo demás es como si instalaras windows desde un CD físico.
